Mother of pearl, also known as nacre, is the shimmering, iridescent inner lining of mollusk shells like oysters and abalone. It is unique because it's microscopic staggered layers of crystals scatter and refract light, creating a deep, colour shifting rainbow effect 

Honey-toned or golden mother-of-pearl comes primarily from the gold-mouth turban shell or the gold-lip pearl oyster

Each leaf and barrel are uniquely hand carved from a solid piece of mother of pearl shell. The vivid carving is on both sides of the leaf and shimmer with an iridescent glow
