Ginkgo Bleue
Pale Blue Lace Agate drops dangle from a small Ginkgo leaf stud
This pale lavender blue and white banded variety of quartz is known for its calming energy and pretty lace-like patterns
Ginkgo biloba, known as ginkgo, also spelled gingko, or as the maidenhair tree, is the only living species in the division Ginkgophyta, all others being extinct. It is found in fossils dating back 270 million years.
I designed this piece for RBG Kew in 1999 as part of a larger range that sold at Kew Garden for many years.
Originally the design on these earrings was engraved by master engraver George Lukes. George was regarded as one of the finest engravers of his generation and I had the honour of meeting and working with him on several of my designs in the 80's and 90's.
