Shell Heaven + Mother of Pearl
This shell is possibly a Wentletrap, meaning spiral staircase (Dutch), found in seas and oceans worldwide, inhabiting sandy sea beds near anemones and corals, which serve as food. I found this shell on a beach in the Mediterranean Sea near Sardinia, when I was a child.
The Mother of Pearl gaming counter, hand engraved in the eighteenth century, has scalloped edges and depictions of love birds and flowers.
Shell - 15 x 8 mm
