Little Shell + Ming Pearl
Another little shell I found on a beach in the Mediterranean Sea near Sardinia, many years ago. You can see them in the center of the image of some of the shells I've collected over the years (this is just a fraction of them - and the smallest!)
With this silver shell, hangs a lovely Ming pearl
The Ming pearl name is applied to the better quality of generic bead nucleated pearls.
Around 4 years ago research in China perfected the process of bead nucleating freshwater pearls, creating large pearls, up to 15mm, with a beautiful metallic lustre, plus much rounder and smoother than previous attempts. This new class of pearl is routinely known as Ming Pearls. They represent great quality and value for money being used to create stunning pearl jewels.
